The three-wire surveillance kit consists of three components: a microphone, a PTT switch and an earpiece. This allows you to position the microphone to best fit the immediate need, i.e. transmit your voice or pickup nearby conversations without visibly raising the mic to your mouth or touching your lapel to active a PTT/mic switch. They can also be used with a wide variety of two-way radio systems.

In order to use the kit in a "wireless" design, you must remove the audio tubing and replace it with an induction loop and wireless earpiece known as a Private Ear™. This will send the radio transmission to the ear without any noticeable wires going to the ear. The advantages of "hiding" your communications can be invaluable when approaching a suspect or maneuvering into position for an arrest.
