The one-wire surveillance system consists of a single wire and earpiece. This system allows the user to receive transmissions coming from their radio in high noise environments, or commonly used as a surveillance earpiece where normal radio transmissions cannot be heard clearly. They can also be used with a wide variety of two-way radio systems.

In order to use the kit in a "wireless" design, you must remove the audio tubing and replace it with an induction loop and wireless earpiece known as a Private Ear™. This will send the radio transmission to the ear without any noticeable wires going to the ear. The advantages of "hiding" your communications can be invaluable when approaching a suspect or maneuvering into position for an arrest.
