Your completed units will come with provided cleaning tools and accessories that will allow you to keep your units in working conditions. The following will be a short troubleshooting diagnostic description on what is available to you before sending in for repair.
If you are not planning to use your hearing protection for an extended period of time, remove the battery and store your hearing protection and battery separately in the supplied storage case.
Carefully brush your hearing protection with the supplied brush tool located in your storage case. Do not push any earwax or other debris into the openings of the hearing protection. After brushing your hearing protection, wipe it thoroughly with a soft cloth.
If earwax is present in the sound port of the ear canal, you might notice that your volume has diminished or even stopped. Most wax collects under the swing door and is easily removed with the brush or earwax loop provided within your storage case. If this does not solve the problem of sound being heard, please send in for a repair diagnosis or cleaning.
If you use your Behind-the-Ear unit, clean the ear mold by wiping it with a soft, moist cloth. Inspect the plastic tubing frequently. Have your hearing professional replace cracked, hardened, or clogged tubing.
DO NOT wear your hearing protection while showering or bathing, or otherwise allow any liquid to enter the protection. If this happens, remove the hearing device and wipe dry. Also remove the battery from the battery door compartment as corrosion or swelling of the battery could occur and cause further issues with your device working properly.
DO NOT drop your hearing protection within water or crush under extreme weight. Store your units back in their protective cases when not in use and remove all batteries from the units battery compartments. This will help reduce the risk of accidental damage or moisture build-up issues from occurring.
DO NOT apply perfumes, colognes, or hair spray while wearing your hearing protection. Such contaminants can damage working operations of push button, tone adjustment and music/audio features and inadvertently adhere doors and batteries together.
DO NOT expose your hearing protection to excessive heat, such as ovens, heat lamps, hair dryers, etc. Extreme heat could effect battery function and stability, as well as damage interior components not resistant to extreme heat.
KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. If ingested, immediately contact a physician or the National Button Battery Ingestion Hotline at (202) 625-3333.
